Bev is an experienced and supportive workshop leader. Each workshop is unique: tuition is tailored to the ability of participants, whether they are advanced players, improvers or absolute beginners who have never touched a whistle before.
Bev is able to work with mixed-ability groups and students of all ages. She has developed methods which enable more experienced players to stretch their technical skills, alongside total beginners who are taught simple harmonic melodies (which develop familiarity with the instrument and complement the overall group sound).
Bev can supply whistles for participants who do not have their own. She emphasises the importance of listening skills in the process of learning, but also provides a range of teaching materials (including written music and ‘cheat sheets’) to support this. Additionally she encourages learners to record the pieces taught, or will supply recordings on request.
Bev’s forthcoming workshops can be found on the Gigs and Workshops listing.
